As a PostgreSQL Consultant, you will assist a major retailer configuring a database install prior to going into production

RESPONSIBILITIES

Analysis of a database installation in pre-production going into production


Help maintain the database, including analysis and implementation of a comprehensive stress testing plan


Issue software and hardware recommendations for optimal system functioning
REQUIREMENTS

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills


Experience with replication configuration in PostgreSQL


Knowledge of standards and best practices in PostgreSQL


Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements


Knowledge of PostgreSQL features, parameter configurations, WAL


Knowledge of automated test frameworks: JMeter, Tsung (or similar)
