The client is seeking a Senior Automotive Testing Engineer to join their innovative team, focusing on software and system testing within the automotive industry. The position offers flexible workload options, including full-time and part-time availability, with a hybrid working model that requires on-site presence in Bucharest every two weeks for 2-3 days. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in automotive testing, particularly in **telematics systems** and compliance with Automotive SPICE standards, contributing to the development and integration of advanced vehicular technology solutions.

JD Romteca: Responsibilities

- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for automotive software and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Perform system testing, integration testing, and validation on telematics control units (TCUs) and related components.
- Analyze diagnostic communication protocols and conduct software downloads, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of telematics systems and features.
- Utilize testing methods and development tools to assess system performance and reliability.
- Conduct data analysis and manage logs and traces, leveraging tools such as Wireshark for network diagnostics.
- Maintain clear documentation of testing processes and results in Jira and Confluence.
- Participate in regular meetings with stakeholders to provide updates and gather feedback on testing progress.

JD Romteca: Required Skills

- At least 3 years of experience as a test engineer in the automotive industry for software and system testing
- Proficient in Automotive SPICE methodologies
- Knowledge of telematics system architecture, specifically TCU (telematic control unit)
- Familiarity with diagnostic communication protocols, software downloads, system integration, and operating system testing
- Experience with problem-solving management tools
- Strong understanding of testing methods and development tools
- Network knowledge (TCP/IP, packet capture, NAT, bridge, P2P)
- Proficient in data analysis, logs, and tracing tools (e.g., Wireshark)
- Good understanding of various telematics areas such as eCall, positioning, and mobile communication standards (2G/3G/4G/5G)
- Familiar with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and ALM
