About this role
A leading multinational consultancy is strengthening its enterprise cloud, data and AI capabilities in Bucharest and is hiring four complementary roles. This one is the Microsoft Cloud Architect – Pre-Sales, with scope to lead and mentor other architects.

The role combines enterprise cloud architecture with pre-sales and client advisory: designing secure, scalable and economically sound cloud solutions, and convincing CIOs, CTOs and enterprise architects that they are the right choice. The balance is roughly equal between business and technology. This is not a cloud engineer or delivery-only architect position.

Microsoft Azure is the primary direction, reflecting Microsoft's strong market position in Romania. Outstanding enterprise architects with a broader cloud background are still worth a conversation.

Location: Bucharest, hybrid. Frequent client engagements mean regular presence in Bucharest is needed. Candidates elsewhere in Romania or abroad are welcome if they will relocate or be regularly on site.

Ideal candidate
An enterprise cloud architect who is both a technical authority and a credible client advisor.

They have personally architected complex enterprise cloud transformations: assessing existing environments, building migration and modernization roadmaps, choosing between lift-and-shift and cloud-native approaches, and designing for security, identity, networking, governance, integration and cost. They can explain the scale, the critical decisions and their own responsibility.

They are equally comfortable in pre-sales: leading technical discovery workshops, presenting architecture proposals to CIOs and CTOs, supporting proposals and demos, and justifying cloud investments through TCO and long-term operating implications.

Microsoft Azure is the primary sourcing direction. Experience with Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Azure ML or modern data platforms is a plus. Their background should be in complex enterprise environments rather than mostly SME-scale work.

Strong technical expertise is necessary but not sufficient: without credible client-facing ability, the profile does not fit.
